Myanmar Pa-o Community
This coffee holds a special meaning to us, as it is the first coffee we have journeyed with, from farm to cup.
This coffee was grown and harvested by the Pa-o community in Shan State, Myanmar. The Pa-o community is the second largest ethnic group in Shan State, and they have been hidden from the outside world for many years. It is through producers like Behind The Leaf, who provide opportunities for Pa-o coffee farmers to resurrect their coffee farms, build pride in their coffee and earn a decent livelihood.
Behind The Leaf is a coffee production facility in Pin Laung, Shan State, Myanmar. The team is dedicated to introducing Pa-o coffees to the world, and have won numerous awards with these coffees in recent years. We visited Behind The Leaf in March 2019 and we were blown away by this particular coffee on the cupping table, a true testament to the tremendous efforts of the guidance Behind the Leaf have provided these farmers. We are proud to showcase their hard work and dedication in our coffee studio.
This coffee brewed as an espresso is intensely sweet and vibrant, with flavours of yellow tropical fruits and strawberries. It is velvety and comfortable as a milk beverage, with flavours of strawberry cream, biscuits and milk chocolate.
